• Participants under 18 must where a helmet.  We have a few available to borrow. 
• Boots are required once the rider has progressed past the beginner foundation program
• We do not  have bathrooms at the barn. Please plan accordingly! We are working on it! 
• Drive down towards the barn and park anywhere on the gravel drive. Please be aware of our barn cats and dogs when pulling in and out.   
• We do have a few dogs.  They are all friendly.  If you need the dogs to be put up prior to your lesson, please let us know beforehand.  
• We have wifi at the barn.  If you need access, please let us know!

• We encourage you to take as many photos and videos of your child as you would like!  Please post and share on our Facebook page or instagram! 
• If you are coming for your first visit, you will need to sign a waiver upon arrival. 
• The no climb fence is electrified at the top.  
• We have a boot share program!  If you need boots, or want to donate boots your child has outgrown,  please reach out!

Once the participant is comfortable with the on ground foundations, they are ready to start learning the basics of riding.   Lessons are private and customized to the individual.  We do not offer group lessons for beginners.   

What to expect?  Participants will being learning how to ride, but the instructor is right there along the horse/rider the entire session.  During these lessons, the rider is learning how to find balance in the saddle.  Weather permitting, these sessions can be done outside and might even include trail walks via lead-line!

Once the participant is comfortable with the on ground foundations, they are ready to start learning the basics of riding.   Lessons are still private and customized, but we consolidate the time to 40-45 minutes per child so that the total lesson length for both children is 90 minutes.

The first 5 Beginner Foundation Lessons are $30 each or $125 for a package of 5.  

Our beginner riding lessons prioritize safety and horsemanship.  Our goal is to teach you and or your child the foundations of leading a horse, basic groundwork, grooming and tacking.  Once the participant is competent in those skills, they are ready to begin in saddle riding lessons.  

Price is per child.  Grooming, handling and groundwork can be done together; but in saddle lessons will be done one at a time.

This equestrian experience takes your toddler or young child  (must be able to walk) on a 15-30 min ride in the famous inky dinky saddle!  The saddle supports the child, so they are secure and comfortable.  This session will expose your child to the horse while working on coordination and balance.  

Ride length is dependent on the child and how much fun they are having!   Most rides will last 15-30 minutes.  If things are going well, we will head out on a farm tour and or trail walk!  Parents are more than welcome to assist the child during the lessons.  

Do you prefer someone to come to you?  We can do that! We have limited spots available for home lessons.   Price includes travel fee within 20 miles of Madison Ranch and Equine.   If your property is further away, a price will be negotiated based on the distance.
